Libertyville car crash: Driver killed in multi-vehicle crash on West Winchester Road, North Butterfield Road, police say

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. (WLS) — One person was killed in a three-vehicle crash in the northern suburb on Friday morning.

The crash happened around 11:46 a.m. at the intersection of West Winchester Road and North Butterfield Road in Libertyville, police said.

The crash involved an SUV, a van and a box truck, Libertyville police said.

The driver of the van was taken to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Their age, gender and identity were not immediately known.

No other injuries were initially reported.

The police are further investigating the cause of the accident. No further information was immediately available.
