Mumbai local train update: Central Railway announces mega block on Harbour, Main Lines – Railways News

The Central Railway’s Mumbai division will run a mega block on both the port and main lines this Sunday, impacting local train schedules on October 27, 2024.

Main line block

From 11:05 am to 3:05 pm, the Up and Down Fast lines between Matunga and Mulund stations are undergoing maintenance. As a result, Down fast line services departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10.25am and 2.45pm will be diverted to Down Slow line at Matunga and will stop at all stations up to Mulund. These trains are expected to reach their destination approximately 15 minutes later than scheduled. Fast trains beyond Thane will resume on the fast Down line from Mulund.

Similarly, the Up Fast line services departing from Thane between 10:50 am and 3:00 pm will be diverted to the Up Slow line at Mulund and stop at scheduled stations up to Matunga. From Matunga, these trains will connect again to the Up fast line, with an estimated delay of 15 minutes.

Harbor line block

The port line will also experience a megablock between Panvel and Vashi from 11:05 am to 4:05 pm, except for the Nerul/Belapur-Uran port line. Up Harbor scheduled services towards CSMT Mumbai from Panvel, departing between 10:33 AM and 3:49 PM, and Down Harbor scheduled services towards Panvel/Belapur, leaving CSMT Mumbai between 9:45 AM and 3:12 PM, are suspended.

On the Trans-Harbour line, services from Panvel to Thane between 11.02 am and 3.53 pm, as well as services from Thane to Panvel between 10.01 am and 3.20 pm, will also be suspended. However, special local trains will operate on the CSMT-Vashi route during the block period, while services on the Trans-Harbour line will be available between Thane and Vashi/Nerul stations. The port line services between Belapur/Nerul and Uran will continue to operate normally.

Central Railway has dedicated these maintenance megablocks for infrastructure improvements and passenger safety. Passengers are requested to be patient with the Railway Administration and check for updates to minimize inconvenience.
