A 5-year-old boy dies days after he was shot in a drive-by shooting, police say

CINCINNATI (WXIX/Gray News) – A 5-year-old boy has died after being shot in a drive-by shooting in Cincinnati earlier this week.

According to Cincinnati police, the boy, identified as 5-year-old Artagist Stanford III, died Saturday.

He was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital after being injured in Thursday’s shooting. But he didn’t survive.

The shooting happened around 5 a.m. on Holland Drive near Vivian Place in Winton Hills.

Police radio traffic indicated that three to four shots had been fired into the home.

Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge said they had no suspect(s) and did not know the motive behind the shooting, but the investigation remains ongoing.

Artagist attended Winton Hills Academy, according to Cincinnati Public Schools.
