Phoenix Suns change starting lineup vs. Dallas Mavericks

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns are rolling out the following starting lineup against the Dallas Mavericks:

Tyus Jones
Devin Boeker
Ryan Dunn
Kevin Durant
Jusuf Nurkic

The Suns will not have Bradley Beal tonight due to an elbow injury. Dunn, Phoenix’s first-round pick, gets the nod.

Jones, Booker, Durant and Nurkic are the other typical starters for the Suns.

Fresh off a loss where Phoenix led by as many as 22, Suns coach Mike Budenholzer says there is plenty of room for improvement on offense.

“Yeah, I mean, I think that’s right and we’re trying to see more of the beginning and less of the end. It’s basketball, it’s never easy, it’s never pretty and it’s never perfect. I think sometimes we’re no different than any other team when our defense is good. I think that a lot,” Budenholzer said.

“It helps our attack, helps us get into things, gets into space and creates quick plays against defenses that aren’t set. I think if we take the ball out of the net or if we make too many mistakes, we ‘ We turn it around and lead to easy baskets. It’s a game that goes both ways. I have a big influence on the other side and sometimes we’re just not that good at the second and third plays, screens and executions. room to improve those assets if we’re stagnant and we’re not as good as we should be.

The Suns are 1-1 and face a Mavericks team that comes into tonight 1-0.

“Obviously there’s a lot of respect for Klay (Thompson) and his ability to shoot, get hot and make shots quickly without dribbling, so I think you’re aware of where he is while still know that (Luka) Dončić and (Kyrie) Irving will have the ball a lot. I’m sure that’s their formula, to try to lose track of you, lose connection with (Klay) Thompson, when they have two great players that you know follow the defense, so you have to be able to basically do everything do against them,” Budenholzer said of Dallas.

Opening tip is at 7:00 PM.
