Kinmel Bay man charged in woman’s death

A 33-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 69-year-old woman.

The woman, who has not been named, died after being admitted to hospital with serious injuries.

It comes after North Wales Police were called to a house on Cefndy Road, Rhyl, Denbighshire, on Thursday evening.

Dean Mark Albert Mears, of Bodelwyddan Avenue, Kinmel Bay, Conwy County, will appear before magistrates in Llandudno on Monday.

He was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 25-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on conditional bail.

Det Chief Insp Lee Boycott said investigations were continuing and he urged “anyone with information who has not yet come forward to contact us”.
