India’s Rachel Gupta wins Miss Grand International crown, ‘drama queen’ Miss Myanmar cries inconsolably after loss | Fashion trends

Mrs. Grand International Procession The winner was declared a day ago, but is attracting attention for an unexpected reason: the commotion caused by team Myanmar on and off the stage. Rachel Gupta of India took the crown at this year’s beauty pageant, becoming the 12th Miss Grand International and the first winner from India. However, multiple videos on social media show a different side of the event: runner-up Thae Su Nyein was stripped of her crown and sash by the pageant director as she stepped off stage.

A video has surfaced online showing Miss Myanmar Thae Su Nyein being crowned the second runner-up of Miss Grand International 2024. As she walks off stage, Myanmar National Director Htoo Ant Lwin is seen accepting the crown off her head and throwing away her sash. Thae Su Nyein was seen crying and then escorted out of the event. However, after the commotion, Htoo Ant Lwin was seen escorting the model out of the venue and shouting at a person who was taking a video of the incident.

He soon took to his Facebook profile to share a cryptic message believed to be related to the results of the election. He wrote: “Bye forever.”

In less than an hour after his last message, he wrote, which roughly translates to: “Everything is fine. I’m going live soon.”

Htoo Ant Lwin made accusations against the Miss Grand International organization

He quickly went live from his page as he leveled certain accusations against the Miss Grand International organization and stated that Myanmar will not participate in the pageant next time. He said the results of the election were unfair to Thae Su Nyein.

But soon after, he wrote in another post on Facebook, which translates to: “I am calm now. Would you like to re-sign the contract?’ and added laughing emoticons.

Netizens flooded his comment section with concerns and asked him if he was okay. The organizers of Miss Grand International have so far not responded to the allegations against them.

Rachel Gupta from India was crowned Miss Grant International 2024. CJ Opiaza from the Philippines was the first runner-up of the pageant.

“WE DID IT! We won the first Golden Crown in Indian history. HAR MAIDAN FATEH. Thank you so much to everyone who believed in me! I promise, I won’t disappoint you. I promise to be a queen whose reign you will remember forever! With all my love,” Rachel Gupta wrote on Instagram while sharing clips of her winning moment.
