Ironwork center unveils plans for ‘most complex sculpture ever’

The centre, located on the outskirts of Oswestry, says its latest monument has been given the working title ‘The United Eye’.

The attraction, which is behind a host of beautiful sculptures including the Knife Angel, says the latest creation will measure 30 by 8 meters and represent a ‘giant all-seeing eye’.

Explaining the inspiration behind the plan, the center said: ‘With governing bodies and world leaders at the forefront of global environmental and political decisions, the idea behind the sculpture is to emphasize the fact that we are all ‘watching’ and keeping an eye on keep the sail. how these policies affect our daily lives.

“At its core, this monument is a call to these leading agencies to ‘do the right thing’ and take responsibility for the actions that negatively impact our societies as a whole.”

The United Eye will be made of 10,000 glass lenses, each printed with a translucent image of an eye.

The Ironworks said the vision is to “showcase the eyes of one representative from all 10,000+ cities in the world.”

It said the project would “create a united front of all religions, denominations, races, genders, sexualities, backgrounds and cultures”, adding: “Ideally, those involved in the project will be activists or individuals committed to to make the world a better place for future generations.”

The center said ‘The United Eye’ will be the ‘most complex’ sculpture to date in terms of size, scale and global engagement.

A statement from the center said: “It is the first of its kind to seek to involve individuals from every city in the world, and it will be a powerful reminder to governing bodies that the people are always watching.

“Once created, like the Knife Angel, The Ironworks will petition to have the monument placed in an impressive British location; in this case in the heart of London’s Parliament Square.

“This location is famously overlooked by a number of official buildings including the Houses of Parliament, the Supreme Court and Whitehall.

“The Ironworks will soon be calling on representatives from around the world to get involved by submitting an image of their eyes, which will then form a crucial part of the sculpture.

‘But currently we are looking for further ideas and thoughts on how this monument can have the greatest global engagement and impact.

“If you would like to get involved or have ideas on how this monument can have the most global impact, please contact the British Ironwork Center via their Facebook page or email [email protected].
