The Lagos Blue Line train resumes operations after a fire incident

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA, says the Blue Line Rail has resumed operations following Saturday’s fire incident.

Head of Corporate Communications of LAMATA, Kolawole Ojelabi, made this known in Lagos on Sunday.

Recall that on Saturday, a fire destroyed part of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit, LRMT, near the old NEPA station at Eko Bridge around Apongbon area of Lagos Island.

According to Ojelabi, the development disrupted activities on Saturday.

“After the spark, the system isolated the section so that investigators and engineers from the independent power plant that powers the train could locate the source of the fire.

“The Closed-Circuit camera along the route immediately alerted the emergency services who initiated the emergency response process.

“There were no passengers on the train and employees in danger after the fire incident.

“The train was put back into service this morning,” he said.
