Telegram and Gazette student of the week

Telegram and Gazette student of the week

It’s time to shine a spotlight on high-achieving students in Central Massachusetts.

There are three strong nominees for Telegram & Gazette Student of the Week.

The T&G has asked high school principals, teachers and guidance counselors to nominate students who they believe have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and community service.

The nominees are:

Summaries submitted by schools.

Drew Nieber, Oxford High School: Drew, a junior, is a thoughtful and committed student who is committed to improving school culture through his role on student council, where he leads the beautification committee. With a creative vision and a strong sense of community, Drew works tirelessly to create a welcoming environment for all. In addition to their leadership, Drew is also a loyal friend, always ready to support and uplift those around them.

Andy Rosario Ramos, South High Community School: Andy is a kind and sweet student who spends time in his final year supporting several teachers in their classrooms as a teaching assistant. (both in English and ESL). As a bilingual student, Andy is a great help in translating work for students who are still learning English, and is a huge help in keeping students on track. Andy has taken on a specific role as a TA by attending alone most days, checking the line and waiting for the toilet and supporting other ML students by understanding the topics and tasks of the classroom. Andy has grown tremendously since he started at South High and I believe he fully represents the core values of our school by being respectful, responsible, resilient and eager to learn every day.

Kyle Sun, St. Bernard’s High School, Fitchburg: Kyle is so helpful and involved in many different aspects of life at St. Bernard’s. Whether it’s STBTV, Mass, the pep rally, or photographing various events around the school, Kyle can always be found dedicating his time and talents to our school. During Latin class, Kyle spent many hours editing a video project for the group, and when his teacher thanked him for his extensive work, he said, “I had the easiest part of the video, so I can do the hardest part here.” ” He has a great positive attitude and a giving spirit!
