Teenage girl killed, another fights for her life after falling while surfing on subway in Queens

A teenage girl was killed and another girl fought for her life after they fell and were run over by a train while surfing on the subway in Queens on Sunday night, police said.

The previously unknown teenager is the sixth person to die this year due to the reckless stunt.

The two girls were riding atop the southbound 7 train when they fell between cars and were run over at the 111th Street station in Corona shortly before 11 p.m., police said.

Chilling photos showed pairs of trainers and blood splatter on the pavement below the elevated station.

One girl was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition with head trauma, police said.

The girls’ identities have not been released.

Sunday’s incident marks the sixth surfing death in the metro this year, as the alarming trend, often filmed due to the influence of social media, continues.

Last week, a 13-year-old boy was killed while subway surfing at the Forest Avenue station.

In September, 11-year-old Cayden Thompson was hit in the head by a low metal beam and killed while riding atop a G train in Brooklyn.

Local leaders have launched a public information campaign to warn teens of its dangers, but the number of incidents appears to be increasing over the past year, according to NYPD data.

According to police, five people died last year.
