Nick Bosa wears a MAGA hat and cowardly doesn’t want to talk about it anymore

Good morning, winners! Thanks for reading the Morning Win today. We appreciate you giving us some time this morning.

Jayden Daniels and the commanders get an incredible Hail Mary pass Beating the Bears takes up most of the air in the room this morning. Quite so. What an incredible play.

That’s a stroke of luck for Nick Bosa, who would otherwise likely be in the spotlight a bit more today after selfishly deciding to barge into his teammate’s postgame interview to make a political statement. Bosa proudly boasted a MAGA hat for the millions of people watching at home, silently supporting Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

He didn’t say a word. He barely looked at the camera. He just walked over and pointed to his hat.

First of all, I thought we were sticking to sports in the NFL. But I think that only applies if someone takes a stand (or a knee) against police brutality in this country. But I digress.

Considering Bosa made the explicit decision to show off the hat, you’d think he’d be willing to talk about his decision and what the hat and the movement it represents mean to him after sharing it with the world has shared.

But if you thought so – like I did! – you would be wrong.

Instead of standing by his beliefs when confronted, he tucked his tail and ran away. “I’m not going to talk about it too much. But I think it’s an important time,” he told reporters.

Bosa seemed to want people to know who he is standing with. But when asked why he feels this way, he didn’t want to talk about it. The best he had to offer was, “It’s an important time.” Well, Niek. Duh. We all know that.

One of two things is happening here:

Either Bosa isn’t equipped enough to articulate his position and explain why he wore the hat on national television, in which case he probably shouldn’t have worn the hat at all.

Or he can explain his feelings here, but he’s just afraid of it. Which, to put it plainly, folks, is pure cowardice.

Whereas that he has now grown into a real ‘talker’, I’m leaning towards the latter. Either way, it’s a real shame.

If you lean on the hate, keep leaning on it. After all, that’s the statement he wanted to make by barging into his teammate’s interview.

Seven years ago, Colin Kaepernick found himself in the same room on the opposite end of the spectrum. He was asked about kneeling during the national anthem at NFL games. When asked about it, he didn’t shy away from it. He stood up for everything he believed in. He lost his job as a result. He was not afraid of the consequences. He didn’t care what people thought. He just did what he thought was right.

Even if you didn’t agree with the way Kaepernick protested, you should at least respect his message and what he was willing to sacrifice to make sure everyone received it.

Nick Bosa doesn’t have much of a backbone.

On the one hand, I can’t blame him. I’d probably be ashamed too if I supported someone holding a rally filled with sleazeballs spewing racist, misogynistic, anti-Semitic hate speech about the marginalized communities that make our country as special as it is. I wondered why there was so much hatred in my heart and why I would ever think of supporting someone like that.

But that’s clearly why Bosa felt so encouraged to wear the hat in the first place. Those are his people. He is no stranger to this kind of hate we saw at Sunday’s Trump rally at MSG and the racist rhetoric we’ve seen during the campaign in recent months.

Instead of embracing that and showing people who he really is when confronted, he runs from it. He couldn’t stand on it. He didn’t want to talk about it.

Nick Bosa is not only a coward, but he is also someone who does not deserve your respect. He certainly doesn’t have mine.

They did Dwyane Wade dirty

The Miami Heat finally unveiled the Dwyane Wade statue on Sunday. It’s about time. He is the greatest player in the history of the organization and one of the best players in NBA history. He deserves a statue.

To be honest, I’m still not sure he got it. Because, y’all, who the hell is this?

That’s how it should be Dwyane Wade does the whole ‘This is my house’ thing thing. But they made my boy look like this a Goomba from the 1993 Super Mario movie. This is a travesty.

THIS WAS SO FALSE: We’re all wondering, “Who is that guy,” just like D Wade.

Paul Pierce says this image needs to be updated and I completely agree. Someone please fix this.

Jaylon Johnson is a great teammate

Because, let me tell you, what if my team had just lost on a Hail Mary where someone was wide open in the back of the end zone? Someone is being thrown under the bus.

However, Johnson took the high road, writes our Robert Zeglinski. He did not place the responsibility on anyone; he just pointed out that the Bears needed to be better.

“There should never be anyone wide open in the back of the end zone. Moreover, in the end we didn’t execute it well enough. I can’t tell you who should be there. Don’t know. But ultimately, no one should ever be wide open in the back of the end zone. We all have to find a way to perform better along the way.”

He’s better than me. Because I have the finger at Tyrique Stevenson.

I’m just petty. Forgive me.

AMERICA’S HAIL MARY MARY: Jayden Daniels may have just decided the election with this.
