Tropical development in the Caribbean

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – We have a broad area of low pressure likely to develop across the Caribbean over the next few days.

SOUTHWESTERN CARIBIA

A broad low-pressure area is likely to develop over the southwestern Caribbean Sea within a few days. Some gradual development is possible toward the end of the week and through the weekend as the system begins to drift northward or northeastward over the southwestern and south-central Caribbean Sea. Looking at the long-term models, the GFS has been more aggressive with the system. The GFS showed tropical development in the Caribbean at the end of next week. However, the euro shows very weak development with this system.

It is still far too early to make predictions with this system, but it will take some time before this system can develop. For now, there will be no threats to the United States.
