Police are looking for a suspect in the attempted sexual assault of a woman in Central Park

NEW YORK CITY – Police are searching for the man who allegedly attacked a woman and tried to sexually assault her in Central Park.

It happened around 5:10 am on Saturday

According to police, the man approached the 38-year-old woman, pushed her over a metal fence and punched her in the face numerous times before attempting to rape her.

Police say the man then fled north on 5th Avenue on a bicycle.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics in stable condition.
