The dispatcher who answered the call asked further questions to confirm she was in danger.

VSO stated that they were able to determine where the call came from because she did not know where she was.

The call led officers to a field in Pierson. Upon arrival, officers reported finding the suspect, Luis Hernandez-Moncayo, on top of the woman screaming for help.

In an interview with officers, the woman told them she knew Hernandez-Moncayo; they drank together in a bar, and everything was normal until he consumed cocaine, which had caused him to become violent. The woman continued to claim that he assaulted her multiple times, including strangulation.

Hernandez-Moncayo, an illegal migrant, has been charged with assault by strangulation, false imprisonment and attempted sexual battery.
