Man admitted to hospital, car ‘destroyed in paddock’ after crash on Railton Road

A young Tasmanian man faces a “long and challenging” recovery after a crash that destroyed his vehicle in a field.

Rhyse Forbes was taken to Launceston General Hospital with moderate injuries on October 18 after his car left Railton Road and rolled over several times.

His brother, Kayden, has since started a GoFundMe fundraiser to support Rhyse during his recovery.

“His car tragically rolled over several times before ending up in a nearby field,” Kayden wrote.

“Thankfully he survived, but he is currently in hospital and faces a long and challenging recovery.”

He said his brother was on his way to work when the Latrobe accident occurred.

“Not being able to work during this period has caused enormous stress and uncertainty, adding to the challenges he already faces,” he said.

“It’s moments like these that remind me of the incredible person he is, always putting his family first and bringing joy to those around him.”

Tasmania Police have not revealed the cause of the crash.
