Ogun Govt Suspends Teacher, Questions Principal Over Student’s Death

Ogun State Government, through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has suspended a teacher suspected of beating and punishing a Master Monday Arijo, an SS2 student of Obada Grammar School, Obada, Idi-emi, which reportedly led to his death.

The incident, which took place on Friday, also led to the teacher’s immediate arrest. The principal of the school, Mrs. Tamrat Onaolapo, was promptly questioned for allowing corporal punishment to be used against the student, contrary to the established rules and regulations in the school. stands.

The director was given 24 hours to explain her actions and why no disciplinary action should be taken against her for acting against the instructions of the established authority.

A condolence letter was then sent to the bereaved family, in which they commiserated over the sudden death of their loving son and vowed to get justice for the family.

The letter, signed by the permanent secretary of the ministry, described the late learner as an exceptional student who would be missed by his colleagues, the school and the state as a whole.
