Israel’s retaliatory attack Iran has damaged at least two secret military bases believed to have helped produce the missiles Tehran used in its attacks on the Jewish state earlier this year, satellite photos show.

The Planet Labs photos show extensive damage to both the Parchin and Khojir military bases, located southeast of Tehran, according to an Associated Press analysis.

The Parchin base, which was once there related to Iran’s nuclear weapons programsuffered significantly more damage, with an entire building destroyed by the Israeli attack early Saturday.

The base, shown a month before the attack, was once linked to Iran's nuclear weapons program.

Albright’s Institute for Science and International Security identified the Parchin building that was destroyed as the “Taleghan 2” facility, where Iran is said to have once conducted explosive tests on uranium cores.

It remains unclear whether any equipment related to the nuclear program remained at Parchin after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) gained access to the site in 2011.

The satellite photos also show clear damage to at least two buildings at the Khojir base, where experts have warned of a hidden underground tunnel facility housing some Iranian missile production sites.

Burned fields were also noted near the Tange Bijar natural gas production site in Ilam, one of three provinces that Iran confirmed were affected in the attack, but it was unclear whether the damage was the result of the Israeli strike.

Damage was also observed at the Khojir military base, which is accused of housing ballistic missile production facilities.

The Jewish state said it avoided attacking Iran’s oil and nuclear facilities after the attack warnings from the US and the Gulf states that such an attack would likely trigger all-out war in the Middle East.

IAEA chief Rafael Mariano Grossi confirmed that “Iran’s nuclear facilities were not affected” by Friday’s strike.

Along with Parchin and Khojir, Israeli officials said they struck several warehouses and buildings that Iran had used to build up its arsenal of ballistic missiles, which it used to attack Israel earlier this month and in April.

The Israeli attack appeared to be concentrated around Ilam, as well as the provinces of Khuzestan and Tehran, Tehran said.

Iranian officials said the attack killed four soldiers, while Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned his country would take revenge on Israel.
