Pikes Peak United Way is hosting a trick-or-treat coat giveaway

(COLORADO SPRINGS) – For the second year, Pikes Peak United Way and the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) offered families a safe, fun way to celebrate Halloween with trick-or-treating and games on Saturday, October 26.

While children collected candy, adults explored resources from United Way and its partners.

Through a partnership with Catholic Charities’ Coats for Kids program, children who attended the event also received a free winter coat.

“It’s just great to be able to have this partnership because our Family Success Center opened last December and we’ve seen tremendous growth,” said Elizabeth Quevedo, Senior Vice President of Community Impact, Pikes Peak United Way. “But to be able to offer additional services, like coats, before winter arrives was really great.”
