Man killed in shooting in Montgomery on Saturday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (W.S.F.A) – A deadly shooting in Montgomery is under investigation.

Police responded to a shooting call in the 1000 block of Mill Street on Saturday around 6:40 p.m. According to police, a man was found at the scene with life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police identified the victim as Marquaries Williams, 34, of Montgomery. Williams was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.

Montgomery police are conducting a homicide investigation. No other details have been released.

An MPD spokeswoman said Friday that there have been 50 homicides in the city and 30 arrests made by 2024.

Williams’ death on Saturday is the 51st homicide.
