Matthews’ victims and their families received the more than life sentence with applause, while nearly two dozen people, including survivors of his horrific attacks, read emotional victim impact statements in court.

“We are now a mighty army of survivors – and you are nothing,” said one of his victims, adding that the former doctor was a “narcissistic monster” and a “serial rapist.”

A jury convicted Matthews in August of raping the women, whom he met through dating apps such as Hinge and Tinder, according to CBS.

Many of Matthews’ victims said they could only remember bits and pieces of what happened after having a drink with the dastardly doctor, while some testified that when they came to, they were naked in bed with him.

The women told the court that the suspects would then make them think that whatever happened was their fault, such as saying they had too much to drink or couldn’t hold back their drinks, the station said.

They also talked about how his crimes have left them battling anxiety, depression, paranoia and other issues.

The judge repeated this and said directly to the victims: “You were believed – that was in the verdict.”

Denver District Attorney Beth McCann later called Matthews’ crimes despicable and said she hopes the verdict “provides some comfort to all of Mr. Matthews’ victims whose courage in coming forward led to this successful outcome.” guided.”
