Jaguars HC Doug Pederson speaks after the Packers loss

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson spoke to the media after the team’s 30-27 loss to the Green Bay Packers, and we were there.

Watch his interview above.

Jaguars linebacker Foyesade Oluokun also spoke after the game. Below you will find a transcript.

Question: About the importance of trust?

Oluokun: “How important is trust now? It’s very important, and I think we’re doing well week in, week out and coming in with confidence. I think we were ready to play. We missed some important plays here and there. I think no matter who you roll out, I think we always have confidence and we prepare the right way to win games. We just have to win those plays within the game that ultimately win the game. From the first to the fourth quarter, every action is important. The confidence in victory and confidence in the preparation is certainly there.”

Question: About the frustration of losing even though you have faith?

Oluokun: “Is losing frustrating? Every time. It’s hard. It’s hard. You have to go out there, prepare, see what you have to do a little bit differently to get on the winning side of these games and win the game. Certainly, losing is frustrating.”

Q: When it’s frustrating to do positive things but not get a win?

Oluokun: “That’s the NFL. You can win the first quarter, but that doesn’t mean you’ll win the entire game. When I was a kid, I think I saw the Rams win an entire Super Bowl and lose to Tom Brady. You have to win the first, second, third, fourth, all the way through. Good teams will win critical downs. That critical decline could come in the second quarter. They are big plays and complementary football that we have to keep improving and keep learning how to play. That’s when the wins start rolling. We have all the talent. I know you guys are tired of hearing it, but we’re here. We just have to execute when the execution matters most.”

Q: What if the team thought the Packers would go to overtime?

Oluokun: “No, no, no. I think they came out with the run… I think we all thought it was the boot play that they showed us twice earlier in the game, maybe three times, we all automatically went for it. It’s good chess on their part, they went the ‘oh crap’ route, we call it. It was open. I have to see it. Don’t assume that’s it.”

Q: What if it’s stupid that they came back from a 10-point deficit and couldn’t finish things off?

Oluokun: “Certainly. It’s a gut punch. I just don’t like losing a match. It’s a gut punch. When we were there we played so hard. Obviously there were times when we played better and times when we didn’t play as well in this game, but we were ready to win the game and we didn’t. So that’s difficult. That’s difficult.”

Q: How did he feel in his first game back from injury?

Oluokun: “I will talk about that tomorrow.”
