Police are investigating an early morning fatal crash in Millard

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha police are investigating a crash in Millard that left one driver dead on Sunday.

Officers responded to the scene at 3:40 a.m. near 144th Street and Hillsdale Avenue.

Crash investigators determined the driver was traveling north on 144th Street at an estimated speed of more than 100 miles per hour and then struck a light pole. The car at the scene was split in two and found on fire.

Omaha Fire Department medics pronounced 24-year-old Brenden Patire, the driver of the car, dead at the scene.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
