Maine’s state representative says he plans to turn himself in for aggravated assault

SANFORD (WGME) – A Maine state representative says he plans to turn himself in after facing an active arrest warrant accused of aggravated assault.

Republican Rep. Lucas Lanigan told CBS13 in an email that he plans to turn himself in at the York County Jail on Sunday at 11 p.m. He said he was on a business trip this weekend.

Police are looking for Lanigan after an incident that occurred Friday. He is accused of domestic violence.

Lanigan is currently running for re-election against Democrat Patricia Kidder.
