EPL: ‘Worst in this erra’ – Alan Shearer shocked by Dalot’s miss against West Ham

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has said that Manchester United full-back and Diogo Dalot’s miss against West Ham United on Sunday will be discussed in 20 years’ time.

Manchester United were defeated 2-1 by West Ham in the Premier League at the London Stadium.

In the 32nd minute, United saw an opportunity to take the lead against the home side after Bruno Fernandes delivered a cheeky ball over the top to Dalot, who was onside.

The Portuguese defender tapped the ball over goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański, but then shot it over the bar with a gaping net.

This caused disbelief among the fans, the players and even manager Erik ten Hag.

Shearer called the Portuguese defender’s miss one of the “worst in the Premier League era”.

“Dalot’s miss is one of the worst misses of the Premier League era. We will be talking about this in 20 years,” Shearer told Premier League Productions.

Jarrod Bowen won the match for the Hammers in stoppage time, with the match heading to a 1-1 draw following goals from Crysencio Summerville (74′) and Casemiro’s strike in the 81st minute.

Manchester United will now be hoping to get back to winning ways when Red take on a resurgent Chelsea in the league on Sunday.
