Fahey gathered her neighbors Sunday evening to mourn the loss of her son and celebrate the life he lived and the joy he brought.

“He was a funny, smart and intelligent kid. He touched everyone. He didn’t even know the kids that were here, he touched everyone,” Fahey said.

His family called him ‘Arty’ and he was the eldest of three siblings, with a younger brother and a sister. His family said he was a kindergarten student at Winton Hills Academy.

Neighbors brought balloons, many with a special Spider-Man theme. Others lit candles, sang songs and prayed for the family and community.

The community sent the balloons into the sky, hoping to reach ‘Arty’ in the heavens above.

“I hope he looks down and sees how many people care about him,” Fahey said.

But even with the support and love of family and friends, a hole has opened in the hearts of the two parents.

“It’s going to take a while for us to recover from this,” Arty’s mother said.

Family and friends said they are waiting for the shooting suspect to be brought to justice. Cincinnati police said the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit at (513) 352-3542.
