I keep having an Agatha theory about Rio that suggests one character's death can be undone

Spoilers for anyone not already in the know Agatha all the timethe best series to theorize about in the TV program 2024 so far, so be warned!

I don’t know about you, but I still feel the pain of losing Patti LuPone’s Lilia afterward Agatha all the time‘s time-jumping EP ‘Death’s Hand in Mine’. Her doomed fate was made all the more intriguing by revealing how she did it seemingly random outbursts connected to her childhood years in Italy, and to the revelation that Lilia was the first witch (besides probably Agatha) to understand Rio’s true identity: death. But what about the details of that were not revealed in the episode?

With only two terms left to run Agatha all the timeIn the standalone season, the stakes are higher than ever for the struggling coven. But I now believe that Lilia may have performed some invisible magic that could result in the return of at least one thought-dead character: Ali Ahn’s Alice, who was turned into a shriveled husk in episode 4. Let’s discuss:

I believe Lilia made a deal with Rio to bring Alice back

Like many Agatha Fanatics, I’ve harbored confusion as to how this series could just do away with Alice Wu immediately after she discovered and then overcame the family curse that essentially destroyed her mother’s life, as well as their relationship. And like many, I also hoped that the deaths of characters on the Witches’ Road did not mean that they would actually be dead in the off-road reality, allowing Alice to live again.

But the events of episode 7 seemed to strongly imply that the thinking is completely wrong, otherwise Lilia’s great sacrifice would have been cheaper if it was seen as a not so selfless act. Which then led to the thought that we might take the Salem Seven with us – an outcome that attracted attention my first major complaint about this show so far – wasn’t even her only altruistic move towards the end.

One big moment that Agatha all the time doesn’t fully show the audience is what happens immediately after Rio introduces her true self to Lilia, right after she falls through the mud with Jen. We get the death revelation, and then nothing. Considering this happened before Lilia and Jen went on their underground trek to find the others, it stands to reason that we missed out on a pretty interesting and non-lethal conversation.

I believe that during that conversation, Lilia somehow convinced Rio to spare not only herself from death, but also Jen, and what’s more ThatI think she’s figured out a way to have the OG Green Witch reverse the effects of Agatha’s power suck so that Alice can return to the story to provide her protection and firepowers for whatever the show’s final confrontations are. Well, I think it’s better to bet that Lilia has a… agreement with Death, instead of making demands.

Considering the back and forth from timeline to timeline, I can only assume that Lilia didn’t know exactly what her fate would be, but either way I wonder if she may have promised the bodies of Rio the Salem Seven, as well as those of herself. higher inflows appear to be the only bargaining chip that would have been significant enough to convince Rio to agree.

The Alice shot from previous trailers would finally make sense

Even putting aside the general idea that Alice is a cool character who deserves to stay alive within the MCU, some fan theories that Alice isn’t quite dead stem from the shot above, which appeared in one (or perhaps more) by Agatha‘s trailers. The character is quite clearly lying on the floor of the recording studio where Trial #2 took place, though no longer all withered and sucked dry, while a hand with long black fingernails caresses Alice’s face.

Those who suspect Rio of being a Death Eater character are convinced that this shot proved that Alice would be back before the end, but without going much further. Why Rio would bring her back. Especially in an episode where she fully laid out the plan for Agatha to take power while Rio took the bodies.

But now that Episode 7 hinted at a mysterious conversation between Lilia and Rio, I’m even more confident that the discussion is the missing link needed to fully justify belief in Alice’s eventual return. Moreover, it would also be possible explain why Rio stayed away after Agatha emerged from the mud and had her big revealing conversation/argument with Bily.

Does that guarantee that Rio will bring back the same prickly but lovable Alice that fans came to love in her sparse episodes? Not in the least. Rio could easily bring both Alice and Sharon back to life to make her foolish followers or other dangerous threats, although I’m not sure what purpose it serves beyond just trying to collect other corpses.

While I was merely hypothesizing above, I legitimately wonder if Sharon could return to the land of the living for the same reasons. I could easily see Lilia trying to save both her fellow sister in witchcraft and the only non-witch who was dragged into a completely unknown situation and then died almost immediately. Justice for Sharon!

Hopefully this theory won’t be turned on its head right away Agatha all the time‘s final two episodes will appear on Disney+ WednesdayOctober 30, starting at 9:00 PM ET. Fans need more treats than tricks as the series reaches the end of The Road.
