Pep Guardiola will be terrified of one Arsenal star after watching the Liverpool clash, he was that good

Another Premier League game has arrived for Arsenal, with the team still firmly in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners welcomed Liverpool to the World Cup Emirates Stadium last weekend in a clash between two potential would-be champions.

It was an up and down match that ended in a stalemate as the two teams eliminated each other and ultimately had to settle for a point.

While there were a few negatives Arsenal to take from it, Mikel Arteta will also be impressed with the display of Bukayo Saka – who returned to the team on Sunday.

Bukayo Saka impressed in Arsenal-Liverpool

Another good performance was planned this weekend for Saka, who returned from injury for the team.

His influence was clearly missed in the defeat to Bournemouth and the tough win over Shakhtar Donetsk last week.

However, it took just minutes to show just how good he is, turning Andy Robertson inside and out before slamming home the opener.

Saka was a threat throughout as he looked to cause trouble, with one such opportunity seeing him cut inside on the left and curl an effort just wide.

The 23-year-old’s fitness will be crucial for an upcoming spell at Arsenal, which will include a number of big games away from home.

While that will be a challenge, Saka’s return will spell bad news for their rivals in the Premier League title race, not least Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola will be terrified of Bukayo Saka

One spectator of the match was Pep Guardiolawho revealed he would watch Arsenal’s match with Liverpool.

Speaking to the media after Manchester City’s win over Southampton, he said: “I’ll look at it (Arsenal versus Liverpool), I’d rather be top than not top (of the league).”

Seeing Saka’s influence will no doubt deter the City boss, who will know Arsenal are still firmly in the race for the title.

But despite that, he might be happy knowing that the teams around him managed to drop points last weekend.

It remains to be seen whether that gap can be closed, but the Gunners have a much better chance of doing so with Saka in the squad.
