CCTV footage shows victim in gym hours before trainer kills her – video

Four months after Ekta Gupta’s death, CCTV footage has been found of where she was last seen. The footage shows Ekta Gupta speaking to her alleged killer, gym trainer Vimal Soni.

In the video, the victim can be seen in her workout clothes, carrying a gym bag and holding her cell phone. She appeared to have an argument with her gym trainer, after which he killed her. It is clear from the footage that Ekta Gupta was in the gym before her murder.

She was the wife of a businessman in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The gym trainer, Vimal Soni, who was arrested for allegedly killing her, gave the exact location where he buried her body. The accused trainer had buried the body near the district magistrate’s house, police said.

DCP East, Shravan Kumar Singh said, “The incident took place on June 24. The victim went to the suspect’s gym to exercise… The victim was extremely displeased over something and had a heated argument with the suspect following which he the latter killed her and buried her here… He dug a hole here and buried her body… He tried to mislead the case, but when we questioned him sternly, he revealed the truth.’

Police started searching for the gym trainer, but there was information about Soni’s whereabouts for the past four months. But after an intensive search they found him in the city.

When the husband, Rahul Gupta, approached the police on suspicion that Soni had kidnapped Ekta by giving her intoxicants mixed in a protein shake. Then in June, police scanned CCTV cameras at train stations, bus stops and hotels looking for them.

It is said that Ekta and Soni were on good terms, but when the woman heard about Vimal’s engagement, she was upset. The two were reportedly arguing in his car when he punched her in the neck, killing her.
