Man with pending felony case charged with criminal mischief, trespass | News

A man who had a pending misdemeanor drug and criminal mischief case earlier this year was charged Monday with misdemeanor criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

Cristobal Frank Quintanilla, 37, also known as ‘Bobak’ or ‘Bobat’, used a screwdriver to pry open the window of a house in Sånta Rita-Sumai, and when confronted by a resident, he said he just clicked was looking for someone in the house. This is evident from a complaint filed by a magistrate in Superior Court.

At 5:45 a.m. on July 7, a woman heard banging on her window and went to investigate. She found Quintanilla standing on a laundry sink on a porch outside the window, and he told her he was looking for two people. When he was told they weren’t there, he left.

The woman later reviewed surveillance footage with police and they saw Quintanilla prying open the window. A kitchen window was also broken and a sliding portion of a window had been removed, the complaint said.

Officers were unable to locate Quintanilla in his home.

On Sunday, police stopped a car with an expired license plate and identified Quintanilla as a passenger. He told officers he had smoked methamphetamine the morning of July 7 and that the person he was looking for told him to open the window, the complaint said.

Quintanilla, who faces up to two years in prison if convicted of both charges, was held on $1,000 bond.

Court records show he was charged in January with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and criminal mischief, both as third-degree felonies, and disorderly conduct as a petty misdemeanor.

In that case, he was accused of throwing plastic chairs and pipes and pointing a gun at two people who were trying to retrieve a pressure washer.

When police arrived and searched Quintanilla, he had crystal methamphetamine, the complaint said.
