One killed after truck rams bus stop near Tel Aviv – as Iranian leader responds to Israeli attacks | World news

At least one person was killed and dozens injured after a truck rammed into a bus stop near Tel Aviv, emergency services said.

The incident, in which more than thirty people were injured, took place IranUS leaders offered their condolences to the families of four people who died Israeli attacks on military sites in Iran.

“Enemies of Iran should know that these brave people fearlessly defend their country and will respond to any stupidity with tact and intelligence,” President Masoud Pezeshkian wrote on X.

Elsewhere, at least 22 people were killed in Israeli attacks in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya on Saturday evening, according to the Hamas-led Health Ministry.

More than thirty injured after truck rams into bus stop

Israel The Magen David Adom Rescue Service (MDA) said the truck incident occurred when a bus was dropping off passengers near the Glilot military base in Ramat Hasharon, near Tel Aviv, on Sunday morning. More than 30 people were injured.

An Israeli police spokesman said a preliminary investigation showed the truck struck both passengers and the bus.

United Hatzalah, a volunteer emergency service, said “a large number of pedestrians” were involved and people were trapped under the truck for 30 minutes after the incident.

Citizens at the scene “shot at the truck driver and neutralized him,” Israeli police said.

Asi Aharoni, spokesperson for the Israeli police, later added: “We are treating this as a terrorist incident. The identity of the terrorist is still unknown, apparently he is an Israeli-Arab.

“We are currently trying, together with the Shin Bet (Israeli security service), to determine the identity and obtain absolute certainty.”

Hamas and the smaller Islamic Jihad militant group praised the attack but did not say they were behind it.

An MDA spokesperson later said the incident left six people in serious condition.

At least 22 people were killed in Israeli attacks in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya on Saturday evening, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry.

Many of the dead were women and children, officials said.

In addition, several people were also killed after an Israeli airstrike hit a school housing displaced people in Gaza City, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry.

The Israeli military has said it targeted a Hamas command center.

Earlier on Saturday Israel targeted military sites in IranFour people were killed and bases were hit in the provinces of Ilam, Khuzestan and Tehran.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei addressed the attacks, saying they “should not be downplayed or exaggerated.”

According to Iranian state media, he said: “Whatever is in the best interest of this nation and this country must be implemented.”
