A luxury BMW worth ₹80 lakh was stolen from the parking lot of actress Shilpa Shetty’s fine dining restaurant, Bastian, in Dadar, leaving Mumbai residents shocked. The car’s owner, Bandra-based businessman Ruhan Khan, discovered the theft while leaving the restaurant and immediately lodged an FIR at the Shivaji Park police station.

The incident took place around 2 a.m., shortly after Khan and his friends arrived at the restaurant. Khan handed his car keys to the attendant, who parked the BMW Z4 convertible in the basement, assuming it would be safe. However, surveillance footage later showed that minutes after the clerk left, two people entered the basement in a Jeep Compass. Using advanced hacking techniques, they unlocked the BMW, after which one suspect drove away in Khan’s car.

When the restaurant closed around 4 a.m., Khan asked the clerk to bring his car, but was told it was missing. “He was shocked to hear his car disappear from the parking lot,” an official said. After building staff were asked to review CCTV footage, it was confirmed that unknown persons had taken the vehicle.

Following the discovery, Khan immediately informed Shivaji Park police, who reviewed the footage and launched an investigation. Authorities are now searching surveillance cameras in the area to track the BMW’s movements and identify the suspects. The case was filed under Section 303(2) of the BNS Act, making it a serious offence.

Khan expressed his concerns, questioning security measures in the luxury restaurant’s parking lot and calling for better security measures. Police continue to analyze additional images from surrounding areas to locate the stolen car and arrest those responsible.
