Trio charged with gun murder conspiracy

Three men have been charged in connection with a plot to kill a man who was seriously injured in a street shooting.

A man in his 40s was taken to hospital with serious gunshot wounds following the incident on Charles Foster Street in Darlaston, West Midlands, on October 11.

Mohammed Ishtiaq, 22, Abdullah Amjad, 22, and Shamus Hussain, 25, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Saturday.

They were remanded in custody and will appear in court at Birmingham Crown Court on November 22.

All three have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Mr Amjad faces an additional charge of criminal damage, while Mr Ishtiaq faces two additional charges of theft.

At the time of the shooting, West Midlands Police said extra officers had been sent to the area to reassure the local community.

A spokesperson said on Monday: “We continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information, particularly mobile or dashcam footage.”

It is clear that the victim is now recovering from his injuries.
