Horry County Police K9 finds suspect lying in ditch after motorcycle chase

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Conway man is accused of leading police on a motorcycle chase into the Myrtle Beach city limits.

A police report shows that Horry County police officers attempted to stop 31-year-old Tyler Jackson on his motorcycle for speeding in the area of Robert Grissom Parkway and Pine Island Road on Friday evening.

Police said Jackson refused to stop and led them on a chase into the city of Myrtle Beach and along a dirt path.

The suspect lost control of his motorcycle and fell, but ran away.

According to the report, a K9 was brought in to help officers find Jackson.

Police said Jackson was found in the woods, lying in a ditch.

Officers arrested Jackson and he is charged with failure to stop for blue lights and drug possession.

He is currently being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center under a $55,000 bond.
