Charges announced in fraud scandal that led illegally certified teachers to work in Houston-area school districts, DA says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities in Houston announced charges Monday against five people allegedly involved in a teacher certification cheating scandal.

Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg and prosecutors will speak at a news conference at 2 p.m. You can stream it live in the video player above.

Officials said the accused are believed to have been part of a $1 million teacher fraud scandal that led to illegally certified teachers working in area school districts.

No additional details about the case were provided.
