Country Star reflects on how God used his brother’s death to spread hope

Christian and country artist Anne Wilson says it’s “bittersweet” to share memories of her late brother on stage, but knows his death was part of God’s plan for her.

“You know, night after night I share my brother on stage, which can be very difficult,” she says said in a recent episode of her ‘Rebel In The Making’ series on YouTube. “I share the testimony of what God has done and the loss of my brother. You know, I want to share it so that it can bring hope and inspiration to people, but sometimes it’s hard.”

Wilson continued, “I think in the beginning, when I first started talking about him three years ago, I had to talk to my counselor about, ‘How do I talk about my brother like that every night without it affecting me?’ And so I’ve learned how to put it aside and talk about him in a way that I don’t really have to face it, if that makes sense.”

The singer called the first night of her My Jesus Tour one of those nights where it really “hit” her.

“We were in Texas and I remember having a moment where I realized that if it wasn’t for the loss of my brother, I wouldn’t be on this stage, and I had a bittersweet moment where I felt so sorry for him. missed. , but also, look what God has done in my life through the loss of Him,” Wilson explained.

She posted about the episode on Instagram, to write“I would trade anything to get my brother Jacob back. Every show I do, I talk about the loss of my brother, hoping it would bring hope to others who are dealing with similar types of loss. Sometimes it is very difficult, but I enjoy hearing stories about how my music has helped people.”

Wilson often talks about her brother’s death and how it influenced her decision to study music.

“I had all these dreams and hopes and visions of what my future would be like, and it had nothing to do with music,” she says. explained in a video posted to social media. “And when Jacob was killed, my life changed dramatically,” she said. “I began to see what it means to live a life that honors and glorifies God. What it means to use my time on earth for the kingdom of God, to grow it ever more for His glory.”
