Man seriously injured after fall from pickup: Loxley police

LOXLEY, Ala. (WKRG) – A man is in critical but stable condition after falling from the bed of a pickup truck in a Baldwin County neighborhood Saturday evening.

Loxley police responded to Memphis Loop in the Stonebridge subdivision Saturday just before 6 p.m.

Capt. Doug Phillips said the community held a “Witches Ride” and a group left in a pickup truck. He said the driver made a sharp turn and a 43-year-old man was thrown from behind and hit his head. The victim was airlifted to University Hospital.

Phillips said the driver, 45-year-old Lewis Patrick Farmer of Spanish Fort, was charged with driving under the influence.

Another passenger was charged with public intoxication.
