33-year-old killed in car crash in New London

NEW LONDON, CT (WFSB) – A 33-year-old man died Monday following a car accident that occurred two days earlier.

Police were called to the intersection of Colman Street and Broad Street at 11.49pm on Saturday to a two-vehicle crash with injuries.

Upon arrival, officers found several injured people on the scene.

Four people were transported to L+M Hospital for medical treatment.

One of the drivers, identified as Jason Poirier of New London, was later taken to Yale New Haven Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

Poirier succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
