The National FFA Organization announces the 2024 American Star Award winners

The National FFA Organization has recognized four students with its highest honor, the American Star Awards.

Paul Oliver of Georgia was awarded as the American Star Farmer.

Oliver set up his own farming business in 2018 due to his supervised farming experience.

He tells Brownfield that he plans to further expand his business in the future.

Ohio’s Landon Haney is the star of the agricultural industry.

Haney launched Haney’s Mowing and Landscaping, LLC during the early part of his high school experience.

He says he hopes to expand his business in the future.

Lizzie Schafer of Illinois was named the star in agricultural sciences.

Schafer SAE’s research began at Schafer Stock Farm to increase IVF calf production.

She is currently attending Kansas State University pursuing a degree in animal science.

New Mexico’s Wylie Schwebach is the star in agricultural placement.

He started the family business, Schwebach’s LLC, for his SAE in 2018.

The American Star Awards are presented to FFA members who demonstrate outstanding agricultural skills and competencies through their SAEs.

Cargill, Case IH, John Deere and Syngenta sponsor the American FFA Degree program and the American Star Awards.
