Marco Rubio Responds to Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s Puerto Rico Joke at Trump’s MSG Rally: ‘What Offense Comedians Do’

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) responded to the controversial insult joke about Puerto Rico by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe during Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally.

“Puerto Rico is not trash, it is home to fellow American citizens who have made tremendous contributions to our country,” Rubio started a post on X.

“I understand why some people were offended by a comedian’s jokes last night. But those were not Trump’s words. They were jokes from an insult comedian who insults pretty much everyone all the time… because that’s what comedians insult.”

He continued: “What is no joke is how Kamala Harris destroyed our economy and allowed dangerous criminals to enter our country illegally and terrorize, rape and murder Americans.

“And what is no joke and is truly outrageous is how ‘journalists’ are helping Kamala Harris (sic) with her dangerous hate campaign by calling Trump the new Hitler and how MSNBC used old footage of Nazi rallies to brand Trump supporters as Nazis besmirch. !”
