One dead in house fire in Maple Bay

Crews from North Cowichan, Maple Bay, Crofton and Chemainus responded to the fire in the 1600 block of Maple Bay Road in North Cowichan around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

At least one person was killed in a house fire in Maple Bay, near Duncan, on Monday morning.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP confirmed at least one person died in the fire. They said their investigation is ongoing and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
