One dead and three injured in a multi-vehicle crash in northeast Phoenix

PHOENIX – Authorities say one man was dead and three others were injured, including a child, after a multi-vehicle crash in northeast Phoenix on Monday afternoon.

Police arrived on the scene around 3:25 p.m. after three cars were hit 40th and Cholla Streets.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were injured as a result of the crash. Two other adult men and a child were all taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Phoenix police.

Authorities said one person had to be extricated from their vehicle.

Detectives have taken over the investigation, which is still ongoing.

Phoenix Fire said the area will be closed while the investigation takes place.
