NBA Fans React to Ice Cold Pistons vs. Miami Heat

Another game, another disappointment for the Detroit Pistons on Monday night in Miami.

Once again, the Pistons went through three quarters and put up a good fight. Veteran forward Tim Hardaway Jr. shot efficiently, knocking down five of his eight shots and hitting all four of his free throws for 17 points.

Cade Cunningham had a perfect first half shooting-wise, making 70 percent of his shots before the fourth quarter for a team-high 20 points. The Star Guard received five assists.

But the fourth quarter remains the Pistons’ biggest enemy this season.

A one-point lead after three quickly disappeared. The Heat scored nearly 30 points in the final quarter of the game, while the Pistons couldn’t buy a bucket down the stretch. With 22 shots in the fourth quarter, the Pistons made less than 30 percent of their attempts.

The Pistons went ice cold in Miami and were defeated 106-98. The Heat moved to 2-1 on the year. Meanwhile, the Pistons fell to 0-4.

After a tough season in 2023-2024, the slightly renewed Pistons hoped to achieve different results in 2024-2025. It’s still early and there are signs of promise in sight, but Detroit is still without a win entering the second week.

@Pistons__Talk: Pistons start the season 0-4. Cade seems disappointed with the outcome tonight.

@PistonsAntonio: Another Pistons fourth quarter collapse

@Kofie: There is no team that experiences more tension in the 4th quarter than the Detroit Pistons

@seanhalfcourt: It took a minute and three seconds for the Pistons to undo their solid work in the third quarter

@MobHoops: Opposing teams seeing the Pistons stage a fake comeback in the third quarter:

@DuncanSmithNBA: There’s no reason to think the Pistons should have won either of these games, but the fact that they didn’t is really annoying. Somehow they found a way to lose expected losses in a very disheartening way
