Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has made another attempt at Ola Electric. The comedian in his latest post pointed out the stacking of Ola electric scooters outside what appeared to be an Ola store. Going a step further, he has urged Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to intervene. This came days later Kamra and Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal had a heated conversation on X when the comedian pointed out the stack of Ola electric scooters outside what appeared to be an Ola store.

In his post, Kamra highlighted the plight of Indian consumers who made a purchase Ola Electric scooters and urged the government to intervene to resolve this. He also criticized the lack of responsibility of the electric scooter manufacturer, led by Aggarwal, with whom the comedian had an ugly virtual feud a few days ago.

Kamra’s post was triggered by a complaint about The user expressed outrage at the lack of qualified engineers or technicians on site. “Minister @nitin_gadkari, please look at the plight of Indian customers, their voices are not being heard. They can’t get to work. They are taking bad loans to solve a problem that is primarily Ola’s responsibility… When will government agencies intervene?” Kamra wrote on his X account while sharing the original post.

Ola Electric is the largest selling electric two-wheeler manufacturer in India, which has a range of electric scooters for sale. However, Ola Electric may also be the only EV brand with the maximum number of customer complaints. The company has been in the spotlight since it started operating in the country in 2017. Although the company had initially disrupted the electric car industry with its S1 range of electric scooters, it is now seeing a backlash from customers due to its poor service quality and glitchy products. Recently, Aggarwal’s disagreement over X with the stand-up comedian brought the issue back into focus.

Over the past few days, Ola Electric has been attracting a lot of attention for all the wrong reasons. While the Ola Electric CEO’s feud with the stand-up comedian became a major highlight among the netizens, the company received a show-cause notice from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) after nearly 10,000 consumer complaints were received against the electric two-wheeler manufacturer on the National Consumer Helpline in a year from September 1, 2023.

According to the CCPA, the range of complaints against Ola Electric ranges from defective vehicles, poor service quality, unfair trade practices and misleading advertising to ineffective customer service.
