POLICE RESPOND TO RURAL KING BOARD THEFT – 3B Media News

On Friday, Crossville Police Department units were dispatched to Rural King regarding a shoplifter at the store. Before arriving, police units were notified by dispatch that the male suspect exited the front door and ran toward the Citgo station.

He was wearing a faded pink hoodie and had unboxed a power tool and taken it from the store without paying for it. Officer Larry Qualls arrived at the store and observed a male subject sweating profusely, with shaky hands, and appearing very nervous. As the officer reached the front door, mail began walking across the parking lot toward Speedway. At the same time, Sergeant Mangas arrived at the parking lot, saw the subject and knew it was Eric Conaster.

Conaster was arrested and a Rural King employee identified him as the one who took the merchandise. Conaster was read his Miranda rights and asked where the merchandise was. After talking a bit, Conaster told police units that the merchandise was in the trash bin next to the right side of the building. Inside the trash was a faded pink hoodie and a bag of exercises.

The tools were returned to rural King and Conaster was transported to the Justice Center for booking.
