The best looks during SpelHouse's homecoming weekend

Spelman College and Morehouse College are two of the most prestigious historically black institutions in the nation. Last weekend, fans, alumni and assorted insiders from these schools came to Atlanta to pay tribute to the opportunities and friendships forged there — and they also returned to showcase their style prowess. Homecoming is a special time of year that gives many of us the opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come. In Atlanta, homecoming festivities were ever-present. And stylish it was ruled all weekend.

For some, it was enough to put on T-shirts with the print of their respective schools. But for others, game day is all about showcasing your personal style. That meant using shades like pink in strange ways or wearing shorter shirts with the ubiquitous character bloom shorts trend. Throughout the centuries, every participant had one thing in common: showing school pride brought a smile to everyone’s face. Pride was on display in countless ways this weekend – and it was undoubtedly a return to the schools that made each person who he or she is. Some students are still making memories, so it was fun to see their take on homecoming attire as well.
