Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox shared touching Instagram posts honoring Matthew Perry, one year after his death

A year after his death, by Matthew Perry Friends costars continue to honor his memory.

Matthew, who famously played Chandler Bing on the hit NBC sitcom, died suddenly at the age of 54 after ketamine overdose and drowned in a hot tub at his home. Before he died, he had been open about his struggles with substance and alcohol addiction.

Earlier this year, in August, that number was five people associated until the death of Matthew – two of whom were doctors.

Matthew Friends have costars paid tribute to the star since his death, and now, a year later, Jennifer Aniston And Courteney Cox have shared moving new messages.

Jennifer, who played Rachel Green in the series, previously called Matthew her “little brother” when news of his death first broke. Earlier this year she burst into tears during an interview with Quinta Brunson about revisiting Friends came forward.

This week Jen shared one series of photos with Matthew on her Instagram page. “1 year ,” she wrote, linking to the Matthew Perry Foundationa charity “led by” Matthew’s passion for helping people dealing with addiction.

Courteney, who played Matthew’s on-screen love interest Monica Geller, also shared a few photos with the late actor on her Instagram page.

“I miss you today and always,” she said wrotewith a link to the good cause also.

Friends fans have been left emotional by Jen and Courteney’s touching messages.

“Forever in our hearts,” read one comment. “I watched the show repeatedly today just thinking about his genius,” someone else said.

“We all fell in love with Chandler at the end of ‘Friends.’ He remained a treasure,” another user wrote, while another added: “will miss him forever.”
