School bus involved in multi-vehicle crash in Eaton County

EATON RAPIDS TWP, Mich. (WILX) – Three people, none of them students, suffered minor injuries after a three-car crash in Eaton County Tuesday morning. The accident involved a Dean Transportation school bus, but no students were on the bus at the time of the accident.

The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that a preliminary investigation shows a distracted driver failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of S Royston Rd and E Clinton Trail (M-50), causing the crash.

The three drivers of the vehicles involved were treated at the scene by ambulance personnel for their minor injuries. The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office and Eaton Rapids Township Fire & Rescue responded to the scene. M-50 was closed in both directions at the Clinton Trail for about an hour Tuesday morning, but has since reopened.
