18-year-old dies in go-karting accident

A man died after crashing a go-kart in Dayton on Monday evening.

Dayton police and medics were called to the 1100 block of Kemper Avenue just before 6 p.m.

An initial investigation revealed the 18-year-old was driving a go-kart in a neighborhood when it struck a parked pickup, a Dayton police spokesman said.

The man was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The crash is being investigated by the Dayton Police Department’s Traffic Services Unit.
