AirPods 4 firmware updated with Apple’s latest release

Apple has released new firmware for AirPods 4adding to the series of recent firmware releases across the entire AirPods product line. Here’s what you need to know.

The latest firmware version is built the same as AirPods Pro 2

The newest AirPods 4 firmware has build number 7B19 – same version released last week for AirPods Pro 2.

Apple hasn’t released yet release notes for the AirPods 4 firmware, but we don’t expect any new features or notable changes.

The other recent firmware releases include version 6F21 for the original AirPods Pro and AirPods 2 and 3. The last AirPods 4 firmware was version 7A304.

That’s probably what today’s update brings to the AirPods 4 as well.

It’s not uncommon for Apple’s firmware updates to make minor tweaks to the way features like active noise cancellation or adaptive audio work on compatible AirPods models. But Apple typically doesn’t specifically mention these changes in their release notes.
