A third vehicle, a Chrysler van, was also affected.”

Francisco Díaz, Beatriz Núñez and their daughters Paola Díaz, 15, and Nataly Díaz, 10, died in the fire, CBS affiliate KKTV And ABC affiliate KMGH reported.

Meanwhile, police said the driver of the Subaru was seriously injured and taken to a hospital. The Chrysler driver was uninjured. The crash is under investigation.

Brothers Daniel and Adam Díaz, who were not in the car at the time of the accident, are recovering from their deaths. “We feel lost. We don’t even know what the next step is,” Daniel told KMGH-TV. “It doesn’t even seem real yet.”

According to KKTV and KMGH, their parents and sisters were on their way to Walmart after attending church on October 26.

“None of them really answered the phone, so that’s when I went over,” Adam told KKTV. ‘I got there quite quickly, but everything was already on fire. They couldn’t do anything.’

“It just didn’t feel real. I was kind of just hoping it was a nightmare,” he added.
